My First blog on when cards were cards

Over the past two years, I have read blogs from Wax Heaven to Sports Cards Uncensored, and I finally thought I want a voice in this blog world.  I have been a collector since 1986 when I picked up my first Bill Buckner 1985 Red Sox card and I was hooked.  I can dabble on and on the many thousands of dollars I have spent on baseball cards, but I have pondered the question for many, many years has this hobby hit the skids.  Packs are ranging anywhere from 2.00 to 500.00 and the only thing that collectors seem to want is the hits, and the excitement of yelling MOJO like at a bingo hall for all to here.  When I was collecting it was all about the hunt in a set of 792 to get that player like Canseco, Jackson, or Griffey, because as many of my generation were told those cards would be worth something when you grow up kid, well I'm grown and the only thing I have to show for collecting is a pile of worthless junk wax era cards.  What really gets me though is one thing, and I'm going to leave it to the readers to pick my next entry I dislike that collectors think a little slab of fabric is really worth getting excited about even if it is from a HOF player.  What is your pet peeve on the hobby, and I will share my thoughts.
